About Us

Our Practice

Originally called Optique, the practice was established over 40 years ago. It was taken over by Allan Katz in 1999 and absorbed two other practices in the area. Since then we have experienced tremendous growth by delivering exceptional expertise and superior customer service.

In 2005, we renovated our offices from the ground-up, to create the comfortable, modern practice we have today.

We are well known for our contact lens service and have a highly experienced optical dispenser on staff. As our focus is on ocular health, we ensure that we always have the latest digital diagnosis technology available.

Our Staff

Our two main practitioners are Allan Katz and Kati Frank, both of whom have over 30 years experience in the industry and are members of the Optometrists Association of Australia (OAA).

Allan KatzAllan Katz – ‘His dogs have facebook’

The inspiration behind Katzeyes, Allan’s job titles consist of Business Owner/Optometrist/part-time comedian. He leads a very loyal team of staff who consider him to be a dedicated, fair and motivated employer. Allan is crazy about up-to-date technology and couldn’t live without his iPhone.

Kati FrankKati Frank –

Kati is a local girl who started her career at our practice in 1979 after graduating with Honours from UNSW. She has been involved in many aspects of Optometry including teaching and being a past president of the Cornea & Contact Lens Society of Australia. Kati is very family orientated and enjoys the theatre, travelling and socialising with friends.

Amelia Roberts

Amelia Roberts – ‘Shopaholic’

Amelia is our Optical Dispenser who has worked in a variety of practices for over 20 years. She has a broad knowledge of optics having worked in London, Wales, Ireland and New Zealand. Amelia loves two things – travelling and shopping – and has a brilliant eye for frames.

Jessie Slattery – ‘Health Fanatic’

Jessie is our young, vibrant Optical Assistant who is currently completing her Optical Dispensing Diploma. She is sociable, fun-loving and outgoing with a great fashion sense.
She hopes to one day use her Business Diploma to take over Katzeyes!

Trent Irwin

Trent is a student of optometry who is gaining hands-on experience in conjunction with his degree by working in the practice one day a week. At Katz Eyes, we believe in giving back to our community and by supporting students like Trent, we hope to encourage other students, helping their personal and professional growth.

Customer Care and Service

We specialise in individualised optical care, forming long-term relationships with our patients, so that we can ensure they maintain the very best ocular health over their lifetime.

We offer prompt service using automated technology that allows us to deliver tailor made lenses to our patients quickly and efficiently.
